Most Valuable Pit Crew Award

Since our inception in 1991, Mechanix Wear has worked closely with nearly every NASCAR team, developing gloves and other products to significantly improve the safety and performance of pit crews. Through this close interaction, Mechanix Wear learned how much work and training goes into a successful pit crew. We soon realized that these crews deserve an annual award to recognize the huge role that a pit crew plays in the success of their team at the race track.

MVPC Award

At the beginning of the 2002 NASCAR season, we created and launched the Mechanix Wear Most Valuable Pit Crew award. In its 12th year running, the Mechanix Wear MVPC award is the longest running and most coveted pit crew award in NASCAR. The iconic MVPC trophy serves as a testament to consistent performance on pit road. Without these guys the car wouldn’t leave pit road, plain and simple.

Judging

On a quarterly basis and at the end of the season we ask the Crew Chiefs to vote for the pit crew who contributes the most to the success of their team on race day. Each quarter semi-finalist is voted on by NASCAR Sprint Cup Crew Chiefs and awarded a check for $5,000 and a opportunity to be recognized as Mechanix Wear’s Most Vaulable Pit Crew. Sure the $100,000 prize is nice, but bragging rights carry heavy weight amongst these tool-men. The end of the year MVPC award is voted on at the season-end race at Homestead and serves as a testament to consistent performance on pit road.
